Industry expert joins a multinational team driving FinTech forward.
San Francisco – True North, a global leader in financial technology solutions, is pleased to announce Patrick Mahaffey as VP/Head of Growth. He brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and operations, high-level management, and the development of award-winning products and software.
Mahaffey’s addition to True North strengthens the company’s mission to change the status quo of FinTech.
“Our goals are ambitious,” says Brian Samson, who co-founded True North (previously named Nearshore Partners) with business partner, Alex Gonikman. “FinTech impact billions of people on the planet and requires creativity. We build innovative software to solve some of the most complex problems in existence, such as democratizing wealth management, banking and payments.”
True North comprises a multinational team of experts headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Buenos Aires and Tandil, Argentina. Global clients include: LendingClub, the world’s largest online marketplace for borrowers and investors; Hijro, which uses distributed ledger technology to power global financial networks built for trade; Upgrade, a consumer-credit platform for online personal loans and credit monitoring.
In addition to finding new FinTech solutions, Mahaffey will lead the company’s growth and rebranding – two specialties that earned him industry-wide recognition as the former CEO of Room 5 (a pioneer in building applications for the Internet of Things.) and the co-founder and former EVP of Sales of MindBox Inc., (a leading mortgage technology company now part of CoreLogic Advisory Services).
Mahaffey’s areas of expertise go beyond tech. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, an avid powerlifter and a dedicated volunteer for military veterans’ groups.
“Patrick is exceptional and a key hire for us making the leap as a company,” says co-founder and president Brian Samson. “He’s a multiple-time industry CEO with a great track record, exciting times ahead”
